| The Ridge Trail to Giant and Rocky Peak Ridge offers great views of the High Peaks from various elevations, thanks to the many ridges and open areas which compromise a good proportion of the trail. The Ridge Trail begins about 5 miles south of Keene Valley across Route 73 from the southern end of Chapel Pond. The trail to Giant is about 6 miles round trip. Add 2.6 miles roundtrip if you take the Ridge Trail just below Giant Summit over to Rocky Peak Ridge, which can also be accessed from a longer trail stretching from Route 9 below Elizabethtown. |
