Formed by the damming of the West Branch of the Ausable River, at the bridge in Wilmington, Lake Everest features a public beach in Wilmington, on Route 86, about a 1/4 mile west of the four corners in Wilmington. The Park on Lake Everest provides a great place for younger kids who want to play in and around the water on a sandy bottom. At Lake Everest you can launch canoes and kayaks, fish for the famous Ausable River brown and rainbow trout, play volleyball, or just picnic under the lovely cedars that cluster around the shore. Lake Everest has rest rooms, barbecue pits, and country/ rock/ folk concerts every Thursday Evening in July and August. |
