Lighting the Propane Stove at Beaver Dam Lodge

First, if previously not lit, usually in the beginning of the winter season, you have to make sure that the pilot is lit. If you look at the bottom through the window, a little from the right you should see the pilot lit. If you don't it needs to be lit.

Make sure the master valve, yellow on the line coming in from the floor is ON, that is, the handle is in line with the pipe. Then open the little door at bottom of stove by flipping it down. You should see a little rotary knob with Off, Pilot and ON settings. You have to push it in and twist to Pilot position. While holding it pushed in, press the red igniter button a few times to the right. You should see the pilot come on. You have to keep holding the rotary knob a few seconds so the safety switch keeps the pilot on. Once it stays on, you can turn the knob to the ON position.

Also at the bottom of the stove under the flap there is a little black plastic box with an LED and a three position switch on it. It is the receiver for the remote control. It also has four AA batteries that need replacing every six months or so. The three position switch has the following settings: OFF, Remote (RM), and ON. Normally it should stay in the middle RM setting and if you need the stove turned on, you would press the ON on the remote. If the remote is not available there is a small black toggle switch on the back right top corner of the stove. You flip that on and the stove should come on. Sometimes there is a five second delay after the switch is turned on and the stove comes on. Also if the bottom remote switch is all the way to the left, ON, position, the stove also turns on. It normally should be left in the middle position, and either turned on with the remote or the switch on the back of the stove.
