Fog enshrouded Fire Tower on Hurricane summit.

Hurricane Mountain is a 5.2 mile round trip hike from the Route 9N trailhead between Keene and Elizabethtown. Roscoe and I gave it a shot on our way to pick up Wendy from the Amtrack station in Westport, on Lake Champlain in July 2004.  The hike was delightful, but the cloud ceiling was too low, so there were no views from the bare rock summit, save the ghostly fire tower.  Wendy and I returned with Roscoe's brother, Sammy, in May 2005.
